The Insemination Process The process of Canine AI (IUI) is typically done immediately after collecting the male sample; however, a chilled sample can be used with a slightly lower success rate. The benefit of AI is to allow the sample to be deposited as close to the female dog's cervix as possible. When ready to inseminate, connect the flexible extender with the compatible IUI syringe and draw the sample into the syringe. Insert the extender into the female dogs cervical vault. Once the extender is in place, deposit the sample. This method allows for a high success rate when breeding using AI.
